Anthony Smith, a 4-year-old boy from Salem, NH, cannot hear out of his right ear and suffers from hearing loss in his other ear. One day, Anthony decided not to wear his hearing aid because “superheroes don’t wear hearing aids”, as he said to his mother. His mother emailed Marvel Studios who responded by sending her images of Hawkeye, who lost 80% of his hearing. Marvel went even further and sent an image of a new superhero, “Blue Ear”, named after Anthony’s hearing aid.
